Benno Lensdorf (born February 3, 1943 in Essen ) is a German local politician of the CDU . In 2012, together with city ​​director Peter Greulich ( Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen ), he temporarily headed the mayor's office of Duisburg as the successor to Adolf Sauerland (CDU), who was voted out of office by a referendum after the 2010 Love Parade accident . In the main election on June 17, 2012, he achieved 21.12% of the vote and was thus subject to the SPD opponent Sören Link , who achieved 48.3%, but missed an absolute majority. In the runoff election on July 1, 2012, he lost 28.04% of the vote to Sören Link, who achieved 71.96%.

Life

After leaving school, he trained as a banker and later became the manager of his family business. The former parliamentary group leader of the CDU has been councilor in the city council of Duisburg for more than 15 years . His constituency is Ruhrort / Alt- Homberg- Mitte. Lensdorf is also a member of the board of the SME and Business Association .

Lensdorf is married and has two sons and six grandchildren .
