Legend
Berlin football champion of the VDB

The association decided after the round not to score the second game between Britannia and Fortuna and to repeat it on May 15, 1898. “As is well known, the decision of the association's board, according to which Britannia should be assigned two points for the second game against Fortuna, was reversed at one of the last federal meetings of the Association of German Ball Game Clubs, with the addition that a third game should take place. [...] Because of this result, a decisive match between Britannia and Prussia has become necessary, because both clubs now have 13 points. "

The BFC Favorit 1896 and the Friedenauer SC 1896 were also association members, but did not take part in this football championship.
