Bernard Housset

Bernard Housset (born June 1, 1940 in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port ) is a French clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of La Rochelle .

Life

Bernard Housset was ordained a priest on June 29, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Montauban on May 17, 1996 . The Archbishop of Rouen , Joseph Marie Louis Duval , gave him episcopal ordination on September 15 of the same year ; Co -consecrators were Jacques de Saint-Blanquat , Former Bishop of Montauban, and André Charles Collini , Archbishop of Toulouse . He was named Bishop of La Rochelle on November 28, 2006, and inducted into the office on January 7 of the next year.

On March 9, 2016, Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation.
