The Roman Catholic Diocese of Montauban ( Latin Dioecesis Monti Albani , French Diocèse de Montauban ) is in France located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Montauban , Tarn-et-Garonne .

history

The diocese of Montauban was on July 11, 1317 by Pope Johannes XXII. Erected with the Apostolic Constitution Salvator noster from cessions of territory of the Diocese of Cahors and the Archdiocese of Toulouse and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Toulouse as a suffragan . On November 29, 1801, the diocese of Montauban was dissolved and the area was incorporated into the Archdiocese of Toulouse. The diocese of Montauban was re-established on October 6, 1822 by Pope Pius VII with the Apostolic Constitution Paternae charitatis .
