The Roman Catholic Diocese of Coutances (-Avranches) ( latin Dioecesis Constantiensis (-Abrincensis) , French Diocèse de Coutances (et Avranches) ) is in France located Roman Catholic diocese based in Coutances .

history

The diocese was founded in the 5th century. On July 12, 1854, it changed its name to Coutances (-Avranches) , with which it wanted to take up the tradition of the diocese of Avranches , which was secularized during the French Revolution , whose territories were now in its diocese .
