The diocese of Blois ( Latin Dioecesis Blesensis , French Diocèse de Blois ) of the Roman Catholic Church in France with its seat in the city of Blois was founded on July 1, 1697 as a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Paris .

After the Concordat between Napoléon Bonaparte and Pope Pius VII on July 11, 1801, it was united with the diocese of Orléans . By royal decree it was rebuilt within the Parisian province in 1817, but the episcopal see was not refilled until 1823.

As part of the reform of the Church of Paris (1966), the diocese came to the ecclesiastical province of Bourges , where it moved from the dissolved province of Bourges to the restructured ecclesiastical province of Tours until the reform of the Church of France (2002) .
