The Roman Catholic Diocese of Tulle ( Latin Dioecesis Tutelensis , French Diocèse de Tulle ) is in France located diocese of the Roman Catholic Church , located in the city of Tulle .
history
The diocese was founded in 1317 by Pope John XXII, who lived in Avignon . built. Here, the abbey church located in Tulle was Saint-Martin to the cathedral raised and its last abbot the first bishop. After the diocese was secularized during the French Revolution , its territory came to the Diocese of Limoges . It was detached from this on October 6, 1822 and re-established as an independent diocese.
