The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rodez ( lat. : Dioecesis Ruthenensis ) is in France located Roman Catholic diocese , based in Rodez .

history

The diocese of Rodez was established in the 5th century and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bourges as a suffragan . On July 11, 1317, the diocese of Rodez gave up parts of its territory to establish the diocese of Vabres . The diocese of Rodez was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Albi as a suffragan on October 3, 1678 . On November 29, 1801, the diocese of Rodez was dissolved and the area was annexed to the dioceses of Cahors and Saint-Flour . The diocese of Rodez was re-established on October 6, 1822 by Pope Pius VII with the Apostolic Constitution Paternae charitatis . On December 16, 2002, the Diocese of Rodez was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Toulouse as a suffragan.
