The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Bourges ( Latin Archidioecesis Bituricensis , French archidiocèse de Bourges ) is an in France situated Roman Catholic archdiocese , based in Bourges .
The diocese , founded in the 3rd century , gave up areas for restitution of the Nevers diocese on October 6, 1822 , and lost its status as a metropolitan diocese on December 16, 2002 . Still in the rank of an archdiocese, it is now a suffragan itself .
From the Middle Ages to the Concordat of 1801 and between the Bourbon Restoration and the structural reforms of 1966 it had these suffragan seats :
- Diocese of Clermont
- Diocese of Le Puy
- Diocese of Limoges
- Bishopric of Saint-Flour
- Diocese of Tulle
From 1966 to 2002 the ecclesiastical province of Bourges finally had this structure:
