Archbishop Armand Maillard

Armand Maillard (born June 18, 1943 in Offroicourt , Département Vosges , France ) is a French clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Archbishop of Bourges .

Life

Armand Maillard was ordained a priest on July 3, 1965 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Laval on August 2, 1996 . The Archbishop of Aix-Arles-Embrun , Louis-Marie Billé , donated him the episcopal ordination on October 5th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Paul-Marie Guillaume , Bishop of Saint-Dié , and Jean Vilnet , Bishop of Lille . His motto is Afin qu'ils aient la vie en abondance ("So that they have life in abundance").

On September 11, 2007, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Archbishop of Bourges. The solemn inauguration ( enthronement ) on October 14th of the same year. Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on July 25, 2018.
