Siegfried Hoffheinz

Siegfried Hoffheinz (born August 12, 1892 in Königsberg i. Pr. , † September 20, 1952 in Bad Oeynhausen ) was a German surgeon, university professor and medical officer.

Life

As the son of a general practitioner, Hoffheinz joined the Grenadier Regiment "King Friedrich Wilhelm I." (2nd East Prussian) No. 3 in 1911 as a one-year volunteer . At the same time he was active in the Corps Littuania . As a medical student , he served in the First World War as a field doctor and field medical assistant in the troops and in hospitals . He passed the state examination in 1919 and was licensed as a doctor in the same year . As a volunteer - and junior doctor he came to Walther Kausch in the I. surgical department of Augusta Viktoria Hospital in Berlin-Schöneberg . In 1920 he was at the Friedrich-Wilhelms University for Dr. med. PhD . In 1922 he went to Otto Lubarsch in the pathology of the Charité . He returned to surgery in 1925 and worked with Erwin Payr at the University of Leipzig . He completed his habilitation in 1930 and became senior physician in 1933 . In 1935 he returned to his hometown as chief physician at the Königsberg Municipal Hospital . The Albertus University appointed him associate professor in 1936 . As a reserve officer subordinated to the military district I in Königsberg, he served as colonel doctor during World War II . R. in the army of the Wehrmacht . With Arthur Läwen he was an advisory surgeon in the (East Prussian) 2nd Army . During the German-Soviet war he dealt with typhus , frostbite , blood substitutes and sulfonamides . In the post-war period in Germany he lived in Bad Oeynhausen . Littuania's successor corps Albertina (Hamburg) awarded him the ribbon in 1952 .
