The French military ordinariate is a military ordinariate in France and is responsible for the French armed forces .

history

The French military ordinariate takes care of members of the French armed forces of Catholic denominations. It was made by Pope Pius XII. Erected on July 26, 1952. By mutual agreement between the Holy See and the Republic of France, the seat of the French military ordinariate is in Paris . Initially established as a military vicariate with the decree Obsecundare votis , it was elevated to a diocese on July 21, 1986 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Spirituali militum curae .
