Luc Marie Daniel Ravel CRSV (born May 21, 1957 in Paris ) is a French clergyman and Roman Catholic Archbishop of Strasbourg .

Life

Luc Marie Daniel Ravel joined the order of the Augustinian Canons of Saint Victor on December 19, 1982 , made profession on December 7, 1985 and was ordained a priest on May 13, 1987 .

Pope Benedict XVI appointed him military bishop of France on October 7, 2009 . The Archbishop of Paris , André Armand Cardinal Vingt-Trois , donated him episcopal ordination on November 29 of the same year; Co- consecrators were Patrick Le Gal , auxiliary bishop in Lyon , and Henri Brincard CRSA , bishop of Le Puy-en-Velay . As a motto he chose Est, Est .

On February 18, 2017, Pope Francis appointed him Archbishop of Strasbourg. The inauguration took place on April 2nd of the same year.

In July 2017, Ravel warns of increasing Islamization in France.
