The Rheinsberg Office was an office formed in 1992 in which 16 municipalities of the then Neuruppin district (now the Ostprignitz-Ruppin district , Brandenburg ) were combined to form an administrative association. The official seat was in the city of Rheinsberg . The Rheinsberg office was dissolved again in the course of the municipal reform in Brandenburg in 2003, and the municipalities belonging to the office were incorporated into the city of Rheinsberg.

Geographical location

The Rheinsberg office bordered the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania in the north, the Gransee and municipalities office and the Temnitz office in the east, the Lindow office (Mark) and the city of Neuruppin in the south (from December 6, 1993) and in the west the Wittstock-Land office .

history

On July 22, 1992, the Minister of the Interior of the State of Brandenburg approved the establishment of the Rheinsberg Office. It was formed according to the so-called office model 2, i.e. H. To carry out its official duties, it made use of the administration of a city of over 5000 inhabitants belonging to the office. August 1, 1992 was set as the date on which the office was established. The office was based in the city of Rheinsberg and consisted of 16 communities in what was then the Neuruppin district :

  1. Basdorf
  2. Braunsberg
  3. Dierberg
  4. Zechlin village
  5. Großzerlang
  6. Heinrichsdorf
  7. Kagar
  8. Kleinzerlang
  9. Linow
  10. Luhme
  11. Schwanow
  12. Wallitz
  13. Zechlinerhütte
  14. Zechow
  15. Cooling
  16. Rheinsberg

In an announcement dated July 16, 2002, the Ministry of the Interior approved the formation of the new city of Rheinsberg from the communities of Braunsberg, Luhme, Schwanow, Wallitz, Zühlen and the city of Rheinsberg. However, the merger did not take legal effect until the next local elections (= October 26, 2003). On October 26, 2003, the municipalities of Basdorf, Dierberg, Dorf-Zechlin, Großzerlang, Heinrichsdorf, Kagar, Kleinzerlang, Linow, Zechlinerhütte and Zechow were incorporated into the town of Rheinsberg by law. Flecken Zechlin from the Wittstock-Land office was also incorporated into the city of Rheinsberg. The Rheinsberg Office (as well as the Wittstock-Land Office) were dissolved at the same time, the City of Rheinsberg free of office.

The municipality of Basdorf lodged a local constitutional complaint before the constitutional court of the state of Brandenburg against its legally mandated incorporation into the city of Rheinsberg, which was partly rejected by the constitutional court and the rest rejected.

Office Director

The first and last official director of the Rheinsberg office was Manfred Richter, who was also mayor of the city of Rheinsberg.
