The Gransee and Municipalities Office is an office established in 1992 in the Oberhavel district of the state of Brandenburg , in which 17 municipalities in the then Gransee district were initially combined to form an administrative association. The official seat is the city of Gransee . The office currently has five municipalities through community mergers and incorporations.

The Gransee and Communities Office is located in the northern part of the Oberhavel district. It borders in the north on the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and the free city of Fürstenberg / Havel , in the east on the free city Zehdenick , in the south on the free community Löwenberger Land , in the west on the office Lindow (Mark) and the free city Rheinsberg . The Great Stechlinsee and partly the Great Wentowsee lie in the official area .

history

On July 8, 1992, the Minister of the Interior gave his approval for the creation of the Gransee and Municipalities Office, which was set for July 21, 1992. The town of Gransee was designated as the seat of the official administration. The following 17 communities from the then Gransee district were summarized in it:

On February 13, 1997, the communities Altlüdersdorf, Kraatz-Buberow, Meseberg and Neulögow were incorporated into the town of Gransee. On May 1, 1998, the communities Baumgarten and Sonnenberg merged to form the new community Sonnenberg.

On September 27, 1998 the communities Großwoltersdorf, Wolfsruh and Zernikow merged to form the new community Großwoltersdorf. On September 27, 1998, the communities of Dollgow, Menz and Neuglobsow merged to form the new community of Stechlin. Also on October 27, 1998, the Seilershof community was incorporated into the town of Gransee. On January 1, 2003, the community of Dannenwalde was incorporated into the city of Gransee. And on October 26, 2003, the communities Schulzendorf and Rönnebeck were incorporated into the community Sonnenberg.
