Jacques Fihey

Jacques Louis Marie Joseph Fihey (born October 1, 1931 in Narbonne , France , † March 12, 2017 ) was a French clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Coutances .

Life

Jacques Fihey was ordained a priest for the diocese of Nantes on June 29, 1955 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on May 31, 1977 auxiliary bishop in Marseille and titular bishop of Remesiana . The Bishop of Nevers , Michel-Louis Vial , ordained him episcopal on July 10th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Roger Etchegaray , Archbishop of Marseille, and Joseph-Marie-Henri Rabine , Bishop of Cahors .

Pope John Paul II appointed him military vicar of France on February 12, 1983 . With the elevation of the military vicariate to military ordinariate , he was appointed military bishop on July 21, 1986 . On April 22, 1989, he was appointed Bishop of Coutances. On October 2, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
