Michel Marie Jacques Dubost CIM (born April 15, 1942 in Safi , Morocco ) is a French religious and emeritus Roman Catholic bishop of Evry-Corbeil-Essonnes .

Life

Michel Marie Jacques Dubost joined the Congregation of Eudists at and received on 25 May 1967, the priestly ordination .

Pope John Paul II appointed him military bishop of France and titular bishop of Oëa on August 9, 1989 . He was ordained episcopal on September 8th of the same year by the Bishop of Coutances , Jacques Fihey ; Co-consecrators were Armand François M. Le Bourgeois CIM, former Bishop of Autun , and Daniel-Joseph-Louis-Marie Pézeril , Auxiliary Bishop in the Archdiocese of Paris .

On March 7, 1998, he renounced his titular seat Oëa . On April 15, 2000 he was appointed bishop of Evry-Corbeil-Essonnes and on May 12 of the same year he was appointed to the office.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on August 1, 2017.

Michel Dubost was best known for his engagement in the Christian-Jewish dialogue in France.

Cardinal Fernando Filoni , Prefect of the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples , appointed Dubost Director of the Pontifical Mission Societies in France on April 19, 2018 for five years (2018-2023) .

On June 24, 2019, Pope Francis appointed Dubost Apostolic Administrator sede plena of the Archdiocese of Lyon , whereby the jurisdiction of Philippe Cardinal Barbarin was suspended with immediate effect. Since the acceptance of the resignation of Cardinal Barbarin by Pope Francis on March 6, 2020, Dubost has been Apostolic Administrator sede vacante .
