Bernard James Ganter
Bernard James Ganter (born July 17, 1928 in Galveston , † October 9, 1993 ) was an American clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Beaumont .
Life
Bernard James Ganter received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Galveston on May 22, 1952 .
Pope Paul VI appointed him on December 13, 1972 as the first Bishop of Tulsa . He was ordained bishop by the Apostolic Delegate in the USA , Archbishop Luigi Raimondi , on February 7 of the following year; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Galveston-Houston, Wendelin Joseph Nold , and his coadjutor bishop John Louis Morkovsky .
He was made Bishop of Beaumont on October 18, 1977, and appointed to the office on December 13 of the same year.
