Warren Louis Boudreaux

Warren Louis Boudreaux (born January 25, 1918 in Berwick , Louisiana , † October 6, 1997 ) was an American clergyman and the first Roman Catholic bishop of Houma-Thibodaux .

Life

Warren Louis Boudreaux received the sacrament of ordination for the diocese of Lafayette on May 30, 1942 .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on May 19, 1962 titular bishop of Calynda and auxiliary bishop in Lafayette. The Apostolic Delegate in the USA , Archbishop Egidio Vagnozzi , donated him episcopal consecration on July 25 of the same year; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Administrator of New Orleans , John Patrick Cody , and the Bishop of Lafayette, Maurice Schexnayder .

As auxiliary bishop, Boudreaux attended all four sessions of the Second Vatican Council .

Pope Paul VI appointed Boudreaux on June 4, 1971 Bishop of Beaumont . The inauguration followed on August 25 of the same year.

On March 2, 1977 he was appointed by Pope Paul VI. appointed first bishop of the diocese of Houma-Thibodaux , which was established on the same date , and was appointed to the office on June 5 of the same year.
