Bernardo Álvarez Afonso (born July 29, 1949 in Breña Alta , Spain ) is a Spanish clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of San Cristóbal de La Laguna .
Life
Bernardo Álvarez Afonso received on 16 July 1976, the sacrament of Holy Orders .
On June 29, 2005, Pope Benedict XVI appointed him . to the Bishop of San Cristóbal de La Laguna. The Apostolic Nuncio in Spain, Archbishop Manuel Monteiro de Castro , donated him episcopal ordination on September 4th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the emeritus bishops of San Cristóbal de La Laguna, Felipe Fernández García and Damián Iguacén Borau .
