Bernd Bachofer

Bernd Bachofer (born December 1, 1967 in Rommelshausen im Remstal ) is a German cook , cookbook author and TV chef .

Life

Bachofer grew up in Rommelshausen. He completed an apprenticeship as a cook at Gasthof Hirsch in Kernen in the Rems Valley . After working as head chef in the officer's casino in Dillingen an der Donau, there followed years of traveling in Switzerland: Bürgenstock Hotels in Lucerne, Quellenhof in Bad Ragaz, Chesa Pirani in La Punt and the Carlton Hotel in St. Moritz. This was followed by pot-gazing stations at Vincent Klink in Wielandshöhe and at the Oriental Hotel in Bangkok.

After a one-year engagement with Jörg Müller on Sylt, he attended the one-year hotel management school in Heidelberg , where he graduated as a state-certified restaurateur and master chef.

After the sorcerer's apprentice in Stuttgart from 1998 to 2002, he became head chef at the Zum Hirschen restaurant in Fellbach (awarded a Michelin star from 1999 to 2003 ).

Since February 2003 he has been head chef and sole managing director of the restaurant bachofer in Waiblingen as well as speaker at the DEHOGA academy and advertising partner of Mineralbrunnen AG for the Teinacher brand in Bad Überkingen.

He went on culinary trips to Bangkok, Indonesia, South Africa, Beijing, Shanghai, Basque Country, Cambodia, Vietnam, Tokyo, Kyoto, India and Dubai.

Bachofer is particularly inspired by Japanese and Southeast Asian cuisine. He brought ideas back from his travels in Asia, Europe and Africa.

Bernd Bachofer cooked as a TV chef in SWR television in coffee or tea with Lena Ganschow .

Awards

The cuisine of the Bachofer restaurant in Waiblingen has been awarded 1 Michelin star, 14 Gault Millau points , 2 cooking spoons from the Schlemmer Atlas and from the gourmet magazines Der Feinschmecker , Aral and Varta.
