Bernd Dießner

Bernd Dießner (born March 16, 1946 in Aken (Elbe) ) is a former German athlete and Olympian who - starting for the GDR - was a successful 5000 meter runner in the 1960s and 1970s . He later became a trainer and looked after several internationally successful runners, including the winners of Olympic medals Ulrike Bruns , Jens-Peter Herold and Jürgen Straub as well as the European champion Olaf Beyer .

Life

In 1968 and 1971 he was GDR champion. Bernd Dießner started for the ASK Vorwärts Potsdam . During his competition time he was 1.70 m tall and 70 kg.

Bernd Dießner was a full-time trainer at LAC Erdgas Chemnitz until 2009 and has since retired. André Pollmächer was one of his protégés . In addition, he was the regional trainer of the Athletics Association of Saxony in the Lauf block, which means that he was responsible for the runners on the distances from 800 meters to the marathon. In May 2009, a fine of € 4,500 was imposed on Dießner for violating the Medicines Act because he was said to have administered drugs to a junior woman who were not approved in Germany. Dießner appealed against the penalty order; In response to the objection, Dießner was acquitted of the charge of violating the Medicines Act.
