Bernd Ettel

Bernd Ettel (born July 31, 1949 in Koethen ) is a German architect .

Life

Ettel studied architecture in Weimar from 1974 to 1978 , which was followed by a research degree. From 1978 to 1984 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Urban Development and Architecture of the German Academy of Building . After he and Christian Enzmann had participated in several architecture competitions with architectural stagings that the GDR described as a surveillance state, Ettel was sentenced to 33 months in prison in 1985 for "publicly degrading" the GDR and "making illegal contact" by judge Jürgen Wetzenstein-Ollenschläger . In 1986 he was ransomed and was able to travel to the Federal Republic of Germany. Ettel and Christian Enzmann have been working in the joint planning office in Berlin-Kreuzberg since 1991.

Awards

  • 1995, first prize for the concept of the Hellersdorf district center by the architects Enzmann, Ettel and Andreas Kirschning, which was then implemented according to the plans of the Brandt & Böttche architects.
