Bernd Lottermoser

Bernd Georg Lottermoser (born September 10, 1961 in Lüneburg ) is a German geologist , university professor and researcher specializing in the sustainable extraction of mineral raw materials .

Career

Lottermoser grew up as the third son of the district president of Hanover , Eckart Lottermoser, and his wife Gerda, nee. Rüther, in Hanover .

He studied geology at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel and received a Diploma of Science in the field of deposit science from the University of Newcastle (Australia) and a doctorate at the same university on rare earth metals and their behavior during ore generation .

Lottermoser has as an exploration geologist for BP Minerals and Kennecott, a scientist at the Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE) in Sydney , as a research assistant at the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the University of Melbourne and is a lecturer at the University of New England worked . This was followed by professorships at James Cook University in Cairns , the University of Tasmania in Hobart and the Camborne School of Mines and the University of Exeter in Great Britain . Since 2015 he has held the chair for sustainable raw material extraction and is director of the Institute of Mineral Resources Engineering at RWTH Aachen University .

Bernd Lottermoser lives across from the Marksburg , is married and has both Australian and German citizenship.
