Bernd Schröder (politician)

Bernd Schröder (born May 15, 1950 in Kiel , † September 23, 2013 in Pinneberg ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

Schröder served as a temporary soldier in the German Armed Forces and, after obtaining his technical college entrance qualification, began studying administrative science , which he completed with a degree in administrative management. Afterwards Schröder worked as a municipal official. He was married and had a son.

Schröder had been a member of the SPD since 1972. From 1990 to 1996 Schröder was first councilor of the city of Pinneberg. Until 2003 he was a member of the city council .

From 1996 to 2012 Schröder was a member of the state parliament of Schleswig-Holstein . Here he belonged to the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group and was chairman of the parliamentary group working group on economy, technology and transport . From 2009 to 2012 he was chairman of the economic committee of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament. Until 2005 he always entered the state parliament as a directly elected member of the Pinneberg constituency . In the 2005 state elections, he received 43.5% of the first votes . In the state elections in 2009, he was elected to the state parliament via the SPD state list.

For his local political work he was awarded the Freiherr-vom-Stein-Medal of Schleswig-Holstein.
