Bernhard Braun (philosopher)

Bernhard Braun (* 1955 in Hall in Tirol ) is an Austrian Roman Catholic philosopher .

Life

He studied chemistry in Innsbruck and from 1976 philosophy at the theological faculties in Innsbruck and Salzburg . From 1985 to 1997 he was a lecturer at the Philosophical Institute of the Theological Faculty of the University of Salzburg with several professorships ( metaphysics and history of philosophy ). Since 1987 he has been a collaborator and speaker at the distance learning course in Vienna . From 1988 to 2001 he was a member of the board of trustees of the Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Prize of the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Foundation. In 1991 he took part in the cooperation model science and media, publishing house Athesia Bozen. From 1993 to 1994 he was editor-in-chief of the weekly newspaper "Gegenwart" and head of the newspaper publisher at the Tyrolia publishing house. From 1997 to 2002 he worked conceptually in the committee of the "Stams Interventions - Visions for the Alpine Region". Since 1999 he has been the faculty representative for the supervision of "Art in the Corridor". From 2003 to 2009 he was chairman of the Kunstforum Ferdinandeum, sponsorship group for contemporary art. From 2006 to 2012 was a member of the three-man board of the Tiroler Landesmuseum Ferdinandeum association.

His fields of work are the history of philosophy, metaphysics, aesthetics, and the philosophy of art and culture.
