Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Prize

The Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Prize was awarded from 1935 by the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Foundation in Vaduz , and from 1968 by the Johann Wolfgang von Goethe Foundation in Basel . The price was originally intended for the "Bavarian tribalism of the Alpine region". The founder was the Hamburg businessman Alfred Toepfer (1894–1993), who also donated the FVS Foundation (since 1994 Alfred Toepfer FVS Foundation ). The awards were made by the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich , the Karl Franzens University of Graz and the University of Innsbruck. The prize has not been awarded since 2005.
