Bernhard Hirt

Bernhard Hirt (* 1971 ) is a German ENT doctor and anatomist . Since 2015 he has been W3 Professor for Anatomy and Director of the Institute for Clinical Anatomy and Cell Analysis at the Eberhard Karls University in Tübingen .

Education and career

After graduating from high school , Bernhard Hirt studied medicine in Tübingen, San Francisco and at the LMU Munich from 1992 to 1999 . Here he received his license to practice medicine in 1999 . Until his doctorate at the Anatomical Institute of the University of Tübingen in 2000, which he graduated with the grade summa cum laude , he worked as a research assistant at the Anatomical Institute. From 2001 he worked as a doctor in further training at the ENT clinic in Tübingen . In 2007 he received a specialist degree in ear, nose and throat medicine. In 2011 he also received a specialist in anatomy. He has been in charge of clinical anatomy at the University of Tübingen since 2008 and was a senior physician for ear, nose and throat medicine. After completing his habilitation in anatomy in 2012, he was offered a W2 professorship at the HHU Düsseldorf in 2014 . He gave up this in 2015 in favor of a W3 professorship at the University of Tübingen. Since 2015 he has also been dean of the pre-clinical studies at the University of Tübingen.

Research areas

Bernhard Hirt's main research areas are minimally invasive surgery and skull base surgery. In the area of ​​molecular research, he examines neurosensors, among other things.
