Bernhard Hoppe-Biermeyer

Bernhard Hoppe Beer Meyer (* 20th November 1961 in Paderborn ) is a German politician of the CDU and since 2017 deputy in the parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from the Goerdeler-Gymnasium in Paderborn in 1981 , Hoppe-Biermeyer did basic military service in the Bundeswehr in Augustdorf until 1982 . He then worked as a freelance journalist until 2003. From November 1991 to June 1993 he worked as a research fellow at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos (Texas) . Since 1997 he has been the owner of the advertising agency “Technical Documentation, Advertising and PR Consulting Bernhard Hoppe-Biermeyer” based in Delbrück .

Hoppe-Biermeyer joined the CDU in 2004. Since 2009 he has acted as press officer for the CDU city association and the CDU council group Delbrück. Since 2004 he has been an expert citizen in the city council of Delbrück.

In the state elections in May 2017 , Hoppe-Biermeyer was elected as a direct candidate in constituency 100 (Paderborn I) in the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia . He won the direct mandate with 56.3% of the first votes . In the state parliament he is the spokesman for the CDU parliamentary group in the committee for homeland, communal affairs, building and housing as well as a member of the sports, integration and election review committee.
