Bernhard Prinz (born February 26, 1975 in Munich , Germany ) is a German artist , draftsman , sculptor and caricaturist .

Life

As the son of a portrait painter and a lithographer, Bernhard Prinz came into contact with art at an early age. His style he taught self-taught at. After leaving school, he spent over a year in Spain , where he lived from caricature and portrait painting on promenades and in squares. Back in Munich he got his first illustration orders for the Playboy , Focus , Süddeutsche Zeitung , Handelsblatt and Stern as well as Weltwoche from Switzerland. He also illustrated music CDs and audio books. For the movie Ballermann 6 , he designed the movie poster and the Gerhard Schröder caricature for the Gerd show .

Bernhard Prinz lives and works in Munich.

The art critic and curator Elmar Zorn describes the art of Bernhard Prinz as a "satirical theater of painting ... at the eye level of the great painters, technically and artistically no less brilliant than the so-called classics"; the Süddeutsche Zeitung writes: "Colorful, bizarre and profound".
