Bernsteinmühle is a district of the town of Schönwald in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

The wasteland is a good two and a half kilometers south of the Schönwalder city center and a few hundred meters east of the district road WUN 15. The Bernsteinbach flows through the settlement . In the immediate eastern neighborhood is handlebar . The border with Selb runs directly to the south .

A documentary mention dates to May 22nd, 1413, when Hans Forster sold goods to the Nuremberg burgrave , including "a whole devastation on the Pernstein, except the mill". The village of Bernstein no longer existed at this point in time. According to Malte, the mill was called the wolf mill in the Middle Ages .
