View of Brunn

Brunn is a district of the town of Schönwald in the Upper Franconian district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

location

Brunn is a good one kilometer southwest of the main town and is located directly on the WUN15 district road at the foot of the Großer Kornberg . Vielitz is about two kilometers to the east, further to the south are the villages of Steinselb , Spielberg and Oberweißbach .

history

Since the village was founded, Brunn was divided into two parts by the Dorfbach, with the north-eastern part of the Sechsämterland belonging to the Selb district and the south-western part of Kirchenlamitz and thus the Epprechtstein district . The first documentary mention was on May 18, 1356, when the knight dynasty of the wild sold their share of the Epprechtstein fiefdom , which also included the "prunn" estate at that time, to the burgraves of Nuremberg . A receipt from April 18, 1363 also proves the sale of a “wustung ze prunne” by the Forsters from Selb to the burgraves; it is unclear what exactly at this time desolate lay. In 1412 there was another sale between these two parties. A year later the Cheb people reported to the Bohemian king that Brunn had been illegally taken from them. The land register of the six offices from 1499 also documents the political division of Brunn into two parts. A torture near Brunn is mentioned in the land register , which has disappeared today. In 1528 the Reformation entered the Schönwalder parish, to which Brunn belonged. In 1599 people probably fell victim to a plague epidemic that was rampant in and around Selb . It can also be assumed that the Thirty Years War had an impact on the residents of the village.

In 1818, as part of the second community edict, Brunn came to the Vielitz community, which was integrated into the Rehau district in 1862 . The Brunner children were taught in a village school until May 1, 1851, from then on they attended the Schönwald school. The establishment of a compulsory fire brigade can be dated to 1877 , from which the volunteer fire brigade Brunn emerged in 1895 . On April 19, 1945, the village was occupied by US troops for an afternoon . With the currency reform of 1948 , the motorization of agricultural work, which began there as early as 1938, was significantly advanced. The community of Vielitz was dissolved on January 1, 1978 by the Bavarian regional reform . The main town came to Selb, while Brunn fell to the town of Schönwald. The village area is now in the Wunsiedel district in the Fichtel Mountains . In 2000 about 72% of the residents worked in agriculture. Today there is the possibility of a vacation on the farm in Brunn .
