history

The first documentary mention is from 1356, when the Wild , a knight family from the Epprechtstein , sold their property in "Steinselbin" to the Nuremberg burgrave . Seven years later, the Forster from Selb also released their claims. In 1414 representatives from the Egerland complained that the margrave had withdrawn Steinselb from them. In 1810 Steinselb came to Bavaria and in 1818 through the second community edict to the community of Heidelheim . In 1877 the Steinselb volunteer fire brigade was founded. Before the end of the 19th century, the community came to the district of Rehau . In 1945, Steinselb was captured by US troops. On January 1, 1978, the previously independent community of Heidelheim with its district Steinselb was incorporated into Selb, which belongs to the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtelgebirge . In 1982 Steinselb was a prize winner in the competition Our village should become more beautiful .
