In 1946, 217 comrades founded a peat processing company, which operated on a large scale with modern machines until 1951. A private peat cut took place until 1958. From 1972 to 1980 moor was mined for the bath house in Bad Alexandersbad .

Small monuments

At a distance of one kilometer east of the forester's house is an old stone cross , which is said to have been the site of a battle during the Thirty Years' War between the imperial and Swedes. In 1978, Helmut Heinrich reported another stone cross find east of the existing stone cross. In front of the forester's house is a granite boundary stone from 1734 with the coat of arms of the Bayreuth margraves and the Habsburgs' shield . The stone stood until 1848 at the state border to Bohemia . The boundary stone and stone cross are under monument protection . In the large forest clearing there is a memorial stone made of Selber granite with the inscription “KENNE DEINE WALDHEIMAT” and a picture of a charcoal pile. The stone was set up at the Meiler Festival on June 15, 1996 and financed by the Fichtelgebirgsverein , the Selb Forestry Office and the Fichtelgebirge Nature Park .
