The Kleppermühle is a district of the town of Schönwald in the district of Wunsiedel in the Fichtel Mountains .

location

The desert is a good three kilometers northwest of the main town on the northeastern foothills of the Great Kornberg in the middle of a forest area . Pilgramsreuth is two kilometers northwest , and Rehau is a good five kilometers north . On the area of the settlement there is a fish farm and the former mill . The border with the district of Hof runs along the western and northern fish ponds .

In addition to the still existing upper mill, the lower mill stood as a mill in sight on the Tannigbach. In the immediate vicinity there is a Rentamtsstein from 1833. On the former connecting road between Schönwald and Fohrenreuth there are three boundary stones from the mid-19th century with the inscription "FVE" pointing to the baronial owner of Eichthal .

history

In 1471 Jörg Rabensteiner appeared as the owner. In a first documentary confirmation of the mill operation from 1581, the "rattle mill" is mentioned. Baron von Arnim from Sophienreuth set up a fish farm there in 1881, which originally consisted of 35 ponds and several forest streams, including the Tannigbach , which connects with the Bocksbach and flows into the Perlenbach .
