Bersbuch is a village in the municipality of Andelsbuch in the Bregenz Forest in Vorarlberg , Austria .

The village of Bersbuch itself, including the surrounding fields, is located on a conveniently located and easily manageable plateau that slopes slightly towards the Bregenzer Ach and extends largely from east to west.

Name derivation

The name " Bersbuch " is divided into two parts. The first part of the name " Ber " is supposed to be derived from bears , as in the name " Bez au" . The second part of the name has the ahd ./ mhd .: Buoch in the last component , which is derived from beech / beech forest.

history

Bersbuch is mentioned for the first time in a bull of Pope Innocent IV on September 17, 1249.

The mess chapel in Bersbuch was built in 1672 (under pastor Jodok Zündt; † May 25, 1685).

Bersbuch has belonged to the parish church of Egg (like Unterbezegg) since ancient times . In 1775, pastoral care in Bersbuch was combined with that in Andelsbuch and separated from the parish of Egg . An independent pastoral care, as aimed at by some Bersbuchers at the end of the 18th century, has not yet been realized.

The Bersbuch ski club was founded in 1936 (the Andelsbuch ski club was founded in 1926).
