The Bödelestraße ( L 48 , in the Dornbirn city area referred to in sections as Dr.-Waibel-Straße or Bergstraße ) is a state road in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg . It connects to a length of 17.1 km , the Vorarlberg road (L 190) in Dornbirn with the Bregenzerwaldstraße (L 200) in Andelsbuch . The Bödelestrasse receives a special position through its connection function between the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley and the Bregenzerwald , with the Losenpass at an altitude of 1139  m above sea level. A. is crossed.

Road layout

Bödelestrasse branches off Vorarlberger Strasse between the town hall and the August Huber Mohren brewery in the center of Dornbirn . In this area, the street is still referred to as Dr.-Waibel-Straße (named after Dornbirn's long-term mayor Dr. Johann Georg Waibel ) in the municipal road network . After a sharp bend, the southward junction of Wingatstrasse and the associated crossing of the district border between the districts of Markt and Oberdorf , the street name is briefly Bergstrasse. After leaving the center of Oberdorf, there is a stronger and increasingly serpentine ascent. In this form, the course of the road on the mountain slope above Dornbirn passes the center of the village of Watzenegg , which is part of Dornbirn . After a few kilometers, the Bödelestrasse reaches the Losenpass at the eponymous Bödele , a well-known winter sports and local recreation area at an altitude of around 1200 meters.

Then the road again leads downwards in partly sharp serpentines to the Bregenzerwald community of Schwarzenberg . In the center of Schwarzenberg, Bödelestraße branches off to the right at the village square and leads out of the local area, where the Bregenzer Ach is crossed at the border of the municipal area , before a roundabout in the Bersbuch district of Andelsbuch joins the Bregenzerwaldstraße.
