Bertha von Dillner

Bertha Dillner von Dillnersdorf , married Bertha Schütz-Dillner , also just Bertha Schütz , ( November 10, 1847 in Vienna-Margareten - June 27, 1916 there ) was an Austrian opera singer .

Life

Dillner, the daughter of the Austrian High Commissioner Otto Dillner von Dillnersdorf, sang in concerts at the age of 13 and was then sent to Matteo Salvis' opera school, which he founded in Vienna in 1863, for further training and then engaged as an apprentice at the kk Hofoper. She stayed there from July 1, 1865 to May 31, 1866 (where she also sang in the Italian season) and then went to the Stadttheater Köln for three years, where she celebrated her first successes.

In May 1869 she was engaged to two guest performances at the State Theater in Prague, where she made her debut as "Ännchen" in Freischütz and as "Martha". After these two appearances, she was accepted into the theater association as “ Urbain ”.

There she remained, also playing in the operetta, until December 30, 1872. From there she returned to Vienna to the Court Opera and worked there from January 31, 1873 to January 1, 1885. As a result of a severe nervous condition, the artist withdrew into private life, not without first being made an honorary member of the Court Opera .

In 1875 she married the publicist and playwright Friedrich Schütz . The singer died on June 27, 1916 and is now resting with her daughter, the journalist Bertha Pauli , and her granddaughter, the writer Hertha Pauli , in an honorary grave in the Döblingen cemetery .
