Berthold Mayr

Berthold Mayr (born October 1, 1925 in Gurten ; † March 19, 2015 ) was an Austrian theologian , priest , historian , Germanist , pedagogue and media priest .

Life

Berthold Mayr belonged to the order of the Mariannhiller Missionaries from 1946 and was their Provincial for a long time . From 1970 he was in the ORF - radio and - television as a media pastor active. He was one of the first priests to design and comment on programs on radio and television. The numerous programs he has designed include the programs Christ in Time and Christian Questions as well as Morning Reflections - Thoughts for the Day and TV Sermons.

From 1957 until his retirement in 1990 he worked as a religion teacher at the Brucknergymnasium in Wels . During this time and beyond until 1996 he headed the St. Berthold boarding school of his order in Wels, which he founded .
