Bertil Fredrik Eugene "Nocke" Nordenskjöld (born May 24, 1891 in Lilla Mellösa , † March 17, 1975 in Stockholm ) was a Swedish military . As a football player , he played eight international matches for the Swedish national team and won the championship title four times with Djurgårdens IF .

Career

Nordenskjöld played as a striker for Djurgårdens IF. In 1910 he made his debut alongside his teammates Samuel Lindqvist and Ivar Friberg in the Swedish national team when they won a clash with the Norwegian national team with a 4-0 win. At first, this was a one-time mission. Two years later, alongside Ragnar Wicksell , Viktor Jansson and Gösta Backlund, he was part of the team that defeated Gothenburg club Örgryte IS with a 3-1 win in the final for Svenska Mästerskapet and won the national championship for the first time in the club's history. In the autumn of 1914 he returned to the national team, for which he played irregularly in the following years, mostly when an international match took place in Stockholm. The following year he won the championship title for the second time with the club - again with a final success against Örgryte IS - and repeated the success again in 1917 with a 3-1 win against local rivals AIK .

In 1920 Nordenskjöld won the championship title for the fourth time with Djurgårdens IF, this time the team defeated IK Sleipner 1-0. In the same year he was part of the squad at the Olympic Games in Antwerp . As team captain , he led the Swedish selection in the 9-0 win against Greece on the field, in the 4-5 defeat after extra time against the Netherlands in the quarter-finals, his teammate Ragnar Wicksell replaced him. In the tournament for places 2 and 3, he played again in the 1: 2 defeat against Spain , this was his last appearance in the national jersey.

In 1928, the then Lieutenant Nordenskjöld took over the post of chairman at Djurgårdens IF, who was relegated from the Allsvenskan in the summer . In the following season, the team crashed into the third division, but managed to rise again in 1932. In 1936 the club returned to the first division, but ended the season 1936/37 on a relegation zone. The following year the club changed its stadium. If he had previously used the Tranebergs IP as a home base, the contract for use with the city expired and the club moved to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium , where it still plays most of its games to this day. In 1942 he finally resigned from his post because his military work as a major was too demanding for him. From 1944 to 1964 he was chairman of Sällskapet Gamla Djurgårdare ( German : Community of old Djurgårdener), in 1951 he received the plaque of honor awarded by this association.

In 1949 Nordenskjöld published the book "Militär idrott" ( German : military sport ).
