Bert-Jan Lindeman (born June 16, 1989 in Emmen ) is a Dutch cyclist .

Career

Lindeman won his first race on the international calendar in 2010 with the Ster van Zwolle and a stage of the Tour de Gironde . In 2012 he joined the UCI ProTeam Vacansoleil-DCM , for which he won the Ronde van Drenthe , his first race in the first UCI category , in 2012 , and with the Vuelta a España he contested his first Grand Tour and finished in 143rd.

After this team disbanded at the end of the 2013 season, he received a contract with the Rabobank Development Team and won his first international stage races in 2014 with the Tour de Bretagne and the Tour de l'Ain . He then switched from the Development Team to the WorldTeam , which was renamed Team Lotto NL-Jumbo in 2015 .

He then achieved his most important success to date with victory on the 7th stage of the Vuelta a España 2015 . He pulled away from a five-man breakaway group that had formed shortly after the start and won the mountain finish on La Alpujarra .
