Bertram Hartard senior

Bertram Hartard senior (born April 30, 1901 in Freimersheim , † November 7, 1967 in Speyer ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Hartard was the sixth child of tailor Georg Anton Hartard and Katharina Hartard, née Kästle. He grew up in Speyer and trained as a tailor. In 1933 he became a substitute for the Bavarian People's Party in the Bavarian state parliament , in the same year he was briefly a city councilor in Speyer until he was taken into protective custody with the entire BVP parliamentary group. In the Third Reich he was a Swiss cathedral . In 1948 he became an employee in the Speyer employment office.

In 1946 Hartard was involved in building the CDU Rhineland-Palatinate . In the same year he became chairman of the CDU city association Speyer and a member of the city council. In 1948 he was the top candidate in the elections, but his party lost the majority. To this end, Hartard was first alderman and mayor of the city of Speyer under Lord Mayor Paulus Skopp until 1952 .

Hartard was a member of the Advisory State Assembly and the first State Parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate .

Hartard was married to Anna, nee Mohr, and had six children. His oldest child, Bertram Hartard jun. , was also a member of the state parliament.
