description

Building (remote)

The BSZ Bau und Technik in its current form emerged from the three BSZ "George Bähr", "Hans Erlwein" and Technik Dresden. All three were formerly company vocational schools, the oldest of which was founded in 1951.

The BSZ unites the school types vocational school , technical college and technical school under one roof . This is where dual training takes place in the professions of painter and varnisher , surveying technician , media technologist, printing (printer) and media designer as well as optician . The technical college leads in a one or two year, technically oriented training to the general technical college entrance qualification . The technical schools for construction technology and paint technology lead as further professional training to become a state-certified technician .

The four-storey school building (today House I) was built from 1952 to 1953 with a "sandstone plaster facade" based on a design by the architect Gottfried Kintzer . The architect's “artistic intention” can be seen in the “tension” that arises between the large staircase windows in the entrance area, the large wall surface with the clock and the classroom windows with their even arrangement. The entrance was provided with a flight of stairs and a sculpture by Wilhelm Landgraf . Under the eaves of the building is the text:

"WHERE THE WORKING PEOPLE ARE THE BUILDER, THE BUILDER CAN BE HAPPY BECAUSE THEY ERECT HIS OWN HOUSE"

From 1972 to 1973 an extension was built in large-panel construction according to plans by the architects Wolfgang Klossek and Sybille Kriesche , with the parapet areas being provided with Meissen ceramic panels.

The listed building Haus I was renovated from 2003 to 2005 for 4.5 million euros. From August 2004-2008 there was a branch in Dresden Reick.
