Waldwinkel vocational training center
The Waldwinkel vocational training center in Aschau am Inn is an institution of the German province of the Salesians Don Bosco and supports adolescents and young adults with physical limitations or mentally-related performance and adjustment disorders in their training. The vocational training center is part of the Don Bosco Aschau am Inn network , which also includes rehabilitation facilities, a boarding school and a training hotel and supermarket.

Waldwinkel has a boarding school with around 330 places. These are divided into groups of five to nine young people.
Most of the boarding school employs trained supervisors to supervise the young people. However, there is also the possibility for particularly independent young people to live in a residential group without constant supervision. This should further promote independence and also be a preparation for later professional life.
Waldwinkel also has a state-recognized vocational school on its own premises, which is attended by most of the trainees. However, some trainees from certain professions have to attend an external vocational school due to a lack of suitable teachers.

In the BBW Waldwinkel, young people who are physically disabled or have mental performance and adjustment difficulties are trained and looked after. This measure is aimed at adolescents and young adults who are able to complete vocational training, but need the help of a vocational training company . However, a secondary school leaving certificate (or a comparable school leaving certificate) is at least required in order to be able to start training.
In addition, a course can be attended before the actual training, in which the young person can find out more about the professions in which he is interested. If aptitude is determined in a two- to four-week internship, an additional one-year vocational training course (BvB) can also take place, in which one can also imitate the secondary school leaving certificate.

Furnishing
All training facilities of the BBW Waldwinkel are accessible to both those living in the boarding school and to external students and trainees. There are separate areas for each training group.
All persons living in the boarding school (also non-boarding students by arrangement) can use the premises furnished by the boarding school management. The possibilities include a library, a computer room with internet connection, a music room, a bowling alley, a swimming pool (open to the public), a bistro and sports facilities. The BBW has a Catholic church that was built by former apprentices.
