Berwyn Price

Berwyn Price (born August 15, 1951 in Tredegar ) is a former British hurdler who had specialized in the 110-meter distance and was used because of his sprint strength in the 4-by-100-meter relay .

At the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, he reached the semi-finals over 110 m hurdles and was eliminated in the run-up to the British 4 x 100 meter relay. In 1973 he won the Universiade in Moscow.

At the British Commonwealth Games in Christchurch he won silver starting for Wales . In the summer he was seventh at the European Athletics Championships in Rome .

In 1976 he won silver over the 60 m hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Munich and was eliminated in the semifinals at the Olympic Games in Montreal . In 1978 he was fourth over 60 m hurdles at the European Indoor Championships in Milan and won the Commonwealth Games in Edmonton . At the 1982 Commonwealth Games in Brisbane, he was sixth.

Over 110 m hurdles he was six times English champion (1973–1978) and Welsh champion (1971, 1977–1979, 1981, 1982), over 60 m hurdles four times English indoor champion (1971, 1975, 1976, 1978). In 1975 he was South African champion, in 1977 and 1978 British champion. In 2008 he was inducted into the Welsh Athletics Hall of Fame .
