Beth McKenzie (born Beth Gerdes , later Beth Walsh, in Bryn Mawr on January 30, 1980 ) is an American triathlete and Ironman winner (2015, 2016).
Career
Triathlon professional since 2012
In 2008 she started her first triathlon and since 2012 she has started as a professional. In 2012 she married triathlete James Walsh and then started as Beth Walsh . Their daughter was born in May 2014.
After her baby break, she started again in 2015 and in July Beth Gerdes won the Ironman Switzerland in Zurich on the long distance .
On May 1, 2016, the 36-year-old won the Ironman Australia in Port Macquarie and has been married to the Australian triathlete Luke Jarrod McKenzie since May 12 .
Doping ban 2016
In February 2017 it became known that she had been banned for doping for two years after an inspection in May 2016. McKenzie denies all guilt and said she was the victim of an act of sabotage.
In August 2018 she won the Ironman 70.3 Bintan in the middle distance .
Beth McKenzie lives in Encinitas .
