Elizabeth (Liz) Demgen Lyles (* 7. April 1978 in Omaha as Elizabeth Lyles ) is a former American triathlete . She is five times Ironman winner (2012-2016) and Ironman Vice European Champion (2014).

Career

Liz Lyles started her first triathlon in 2001. From 2008 to 2012 she took a baby break.

Triathlon professional since 2012

Since July 2012 she has been active as a professional. In December 2013, she won her second Ironman race in Australia - with a time of less than nine hours.

Vice European Champion Ironman 2014

In July 2014 she became vice European champion in Frankfurt and set a new personal Ironman best time of 8:56:36 h. At the Ironman Hawaii (Ironman World Championships), she finished seventh in 2014.

In May 2016 she won her third Ironman victory and she won the Ironman Brasil with a new course record (8:54:10 h) . In September 2017 she won her second Ironman race in the middle distance with the Ironman 70.3 Santa Cruz . In October 2017, Liz Lyles finished eighth at the Ironman Hawaii.

In February 2018, she declared her active time over. Liz Lyles lives in Reno, Nevada with her husband and two children .
