Better Oblivion Community Center is an American indie rock - duo consisting of Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridger .

Band history

Conor Oberst and Phoebe Bridgers founded the duo in mid-2018. For the album and live recordings, the duo consists of a six-member band made up of as many men and women, with female bass guitar and drums ( Carla Azar from Autolux ), keyboards and Lead guitar ( Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs ) male.

Her self-titled debut album was released on January 24, 2019 on the American independent label Dead Oceans . The album is a concept album in which all the songs are fun about a mysterious, satirical wellness hotel. Right at the start of their release tour, the band strategically appeared on several television shows, including the day before the album was released on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert . When CBS Morning they contacted Dylan Thomas , Did not Know What I Was in For and My City on. Videos of this performance have been published on YouTube . The album reached number 76 in the British charts, as well as placements in the Dutch (number 117) and Belgian charts (number 20). In the Billboard charts, the album was in the top 50 (49th place) in the special US Independent Albums chart and in the top 20 (18th and 20th place) in the Top Alternative Albums and US Top Tastemaker charts.

On January 29, 2019, their tour of the United States and Europe was announced and the surreal music video for Dylan Thomas , which was filmed by Japanese Breakfast (Michelle Zauner), was released at the same time .

The album was voted 7th in the top 10 of the ten best albums of 2019 by the music magazine Visions .
