action

The story of Bibi Balù is based on a true story. A student from Africa was in financial difficulties and the Zurich Week called for a fundraising campaign. After a substantial sum was collected, the student's father protested and forbade any alms. The money could be used for another good cause. The two authors wrote this incident into a crook musical. A clever duo collects money for the benefit of the girl Bibi, who comes from the Pacific island of Balù, and is hoping for a rich windfall for themselves. The crooks do not lack sophistication or idiosyncratic imagination to reach their goal. Director Stefan Huber cut the play by around an hour for the St. Gallen Theater.
