The Bieberbach , usually just called the Bieber , is a 14.4 km long orographically right tributary of the Hönne in North Rhine-Westphalia , Germany .

geography

The brook rises on the northeast flank of the Bückenberg east of Wettmarsen at an altitude of 347  m above sea level. NN . The source area is in the town of Arnsberg, which is part of the Hochsauerland district . From here the brook first flows in a northerly direction. It flows through Ainkhausen . After passing the Oelinghauser Mühle , the course turns west. Here is Holzen happening in the north. The Bieberbach, flowing further in a westerly direction, crosses the district boundary west of the Biebermühle.

Now in the area of ​​the town of Menden (Sauerland) , which belongs to the Märkisches Kreis , the brook reaches Lürbke . After flowing through Lendringsen , the Bieberbach empties at 155  m above sea level. NN on the right in the Hönne. With a height difference of 192 m, the mean bed slope is 13.3 ‰. The 31.477 km² catchment area is drained to the North Sea via the Hönne, Ruhr and Rhine rivers.

To the north of Arnsberg-Holzen, the Bieberbach crosses the FFH area DE-4513-301, Luerwald and Bieberbach .

Tributaries
